I decided to try something new with this ring, and I love how it turned out! This striking Royston turquoise triangle was calling for some hand-stamped accents, so I did some light stamping on the bezel surrounding the stone, as well as on the ring band. I've set the stone in fine and sterling silver, and surrounded it with recycled sterling silver.
The ring band is sized at a 7.5 and is 1.5mm thick, which gives the ring a very solid feeling on the finger. I stamped around the entire band, as well as on the back of the ring setting. The inside of the band is stamped with my "be" makers mark and a ".925" sterling hallmark. The result is a mixed rustic and southwestern feeling, which I'm totally digging.
This ring was handcrafted from recycled sterling and fine silver by my two hands, through traditional metalsmithing techniques of torch and fire, hammer and file. It isn't perfect, but that's part of the character of handmade jewelry. And as with all my pieces, I've put my whole creative heart into it as well.
